Wrestle Bros

Wrestle Bros is an arcade-style professional wrestling game where timing a block, using the ropes and recognising when an opponent is vulnerable matter just as much as repeatedly attacking. You can enter a solo tournament, share the keyboard with a friend, or take the competition online.

Description

Wrestle Bros is an arcade-style professional wrestling game where timing a block, using the ropes and recognising when an opponent is vulnerable matter just as much as repeatedly attacking. You can enter a solo tournament, share the keyboard with a friend, or take the competition online.

The game starts with four wrestlers, each carrying different stats, and gradually opens more characters and moves as you win matches. Inside the ring, you can jump from the ropes, perform wrestling moves, use available props and eventually pin an opponent when the opportunity appears.

It is deliberately less complicated than a simulation-heavy wrestling game. The controls are compact enough to learn quickly, but matches become much more interesting once you stop pressing the action button constantly and start reading what your opponent is doing.

About Wrestle Bros

Wrestle Bros is a browser-based wrestling and sports-action game developed by Blue Wizard Digital.

The game belongs to the developer’s wider Bros series of accessible multiplayer sports games.

Blue Wizard’s official Wrestle Bros announcement describes the game as a combination of wrestling, pinning, unlockable competitors and increasingly varied moves.

The basic premise is straightforward.

Choose a wrestler.

Enter the ring.

Use movement, blocks, attacks, jumps and wrestling moves to control the match.

Once the opponent is sufficiently vulnerable, create an opportunity to pin them and finish the bout.

The game is intentionally exaggerated rather than a realistic simulation of professional wrestling. Characters have cartoon-like proportions, moves are easy to trigger, and matches prioritise quick entertainment over reproducing every rule or sequence found in a real wrestling event.

Wrestle Bros Release Date

There are two dates worth separating.

The current CrazyGames listing gives:

CrazyGames Release: July 2023

However, Blue Wizard Digital publicly announced Wrestle Bros on September 15, 2022, and that announcement already described the game as playable.

The most accurate way to present the history is therefore:

Original Blue Wizard Launch/Announcement: September 2022
CrazyGames Platform Release: July 2023

This distinction prevents the later platform-listing date from being mistaken for the first appearance of the game.

How To Play Wrestle Bros

Start by choosing how you want to fight.

The current game supports three main ways to approach a match:

  • Single-player tournament
  • Local two-player matches
  • Online wrestling matches

After choosing a mode, select your wrestler and customise the available colour options.

Once the match starts:

  1. Move around the ring.
  2. Watch your opponent’s approach.
  3. Block when an attack is coming.
  4. Use your action control to attack or perform wrestling moves.
  5. Use jumps to change your attack angle.
  6. Take advantage of the ropes.
  7. Use available ring props where the game allows them.
  8. Build enough pressure to leave your opponent vulnerable.
  9. Move into position.
  10. Pin them when the opportunity appears.

The controls are simple, but good timing matters.

Running directly into every exchange can make a match much harder than waiting for an opponent to commit first.

Choose Your Game Mode

Wrestle Bros works differently depending on who is on the other side of the ring.

Single-Player Tournament

The tournament is a useful starting point if you are still learning the controls.

You can concentrate on:

  • Movement
  • Jump timing
  • Blocking
  • Attacks
  • Rope movement
  • Pinning
  • Character differences

Playing against the computer gives you room to understand why a move succeeded or failed without simultaneously learning another person’s habits.

Tournament victories also contribute towards progression and unlocks.

Two-Player Mode

Two people can play on the same computer.

Player 1 uses the WASD side of the keyboard, while Player 2 uses the arrow keys.

This mode immediately changes the feel of Wrestle Bros.

A computer opponent follows programmed behaviour.

A friend can recognise your habits.

If you always jump when somebody approaches, that eventually becomes predictable.

If you attack immediately after standing up every time, a human opponent can start waiting for it.

That makes local matches less about memorising one winning sequence and more about adjusting to the other player.

Online Multiplayer

Wrestle Bros also supports online matches.

Blue Wizard’s official Wrestle Bros site describes playing against friends online as one of the main ways to play.

Online opponents create much of the same unpredictability as local play.

One person may attack constantly.

Another may defend and wait.

Another might rely heavily on jumping from the ropes.

Do not assume the strategy that worked comfortably against one opponent will work against everyone else.
